About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
Graduates will acquire the theoretical and practical set of skills necessary to be cross-culturally competent as well as opportunities and platforms to apply them through the most powerful form of intercultural communication: translation. These skills are in high demand among employers across a wide range of areas, including business (international trade, advertising, website localisation, hospitality and tourism), education (second language learning, multicultural instruction, international relations, development studies, digital humanities, medical humanities, literature and linguistics), and the creative industries (film production, subtitling and dubbing, graphic design, creative writing, advertising). Graduates will be able to successfully acquire, analyse, interpret, negotiate and reproduce information and data across linguistic, cultural, and socio-political contexts. As well as being well-prepared for employment in the above fields, some graduates may be able to continue to doctoral study in Translation Studies.
