What can I expect out of this qualification?
Graduates will have an economic toolbox that they can apply to real-world problems. Graduates will be able to apply economic concepts and quantitative techniques using regional, national and global perspectives. They will be able to undertake applied economic research in a professional context and communicate this in ways appropriate for a range of stakeholders. They will be qualified to work at an advanced level in government departments and agencies, state-owned enterprises, banks and other private companies and consultancies in New Zealand, as well as internationally in organisations such as the Asian Development Bank, World Bank, IMF, the International Labour Organisation, and the United Nations Development Bank. Some graduates may be able to continue to the Master of Professional Economics (VI001G).
