What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide communities in New Zealand with qualified individuals who have attained sufficient knowledge, practical skills and behavioral attributes for the general maintenance of health and life style using traditional Chinese medicine therapies, practices and philosophies of Tuina.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
Candidates must demonstrate they meet the University Entrance requirements as defined by NZQA or fulfil one of the following modes of entrance: - Admission ad eundem statum - Special Admission - Discretionary entrance NCEA University Entrance Standard: Candidates must have: A minimum of 42 credits at level 3 or higher on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF), including a minimum of 14 credits at level 3 or higher in each of two subjects from the approved NZQA subject list. A further 14 credits at level 3 or higher taken from no more than two additional domains on the NQF or approved subjects. A minimum of 10 credits at level 1 or higher in Mathematics on the NQF. A minimum of 10 credits at level 2 or higher on the NQF in English, 5 credits must be in reading and 5 credits must be in writing. Cambridge International Examinations: Candidates must have: A minimum of 120 points on the UCAS Tariff at A or AS level from any syllabus groups from those available in NZ which are broadly equivalent to those in the approved list of subjects for NCEA with a minimum grade of D in at least three different syllabus groups (excluding Thinking Skills) ; A minimum D pass in IGCSE or GCSE Mathematics or any mathematics passed at AS level; A minimum E pass in any one of AS English Language, Language and Literature in English, Literature in English. Other Qualifications: May be deemed equivalent to the university entrance standard either on their own or in combination with NCEA (as specified by the NZ universities vice chancellors committee) Special Admission and Mature Entry: Persons over the age of 20 years who are NZ or Australian citizens or Permanent Residents may enroll without having obtained university entrance at the decision of the Programme Management Committee.
