About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
All students in the Bachelor of Tourism Management will receive a good grounding in the general principles of tourism and the specific operation of tourism in New Zealand. Tourism Management studnets will gain knowledge of tourism management principles and will learn to critically analyse problems enabling them to come up with workable solutions to real problems in the tourism industry. They will also gain practical insights into the application of research to industry issues. Additionally, they will have had the opportunity to develop their interest in specialised aspects of the tourism industry.

Minimum requirements
A candidate for admission to this programme of study shall: have a minimum of 14 NCEA credits in each of three subjects at Level 3, and a minimum of 14 numeracy credits at Level 1 or higher, and a minimum of 8 literacy credits at Level 2 or higher; or have successfully undertaken tertiary study; or have successfully completed the requirements for Level 4 qualification in Travel and Tourism; or hold an equivalent overseas qualification; and have attained the age of 17 years; and have an English level equivalent to IELTS 6.0 (with no band less than 5.5) / TOEFL iBT 60 (with a writing score of 20) / PToE academic score of 50 / AIS Test of English Proficiency (TEP) 52/80 (with no band less than 12); or gain approval under Admission Regulation 3: Special Admission.
