About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The Master of Fine Arts places emphasis on the integration of studio and theoretical components; on the manufacture of ideas in the process of working with the tools and materials of making and writing and requires a high standard of studio research and its contextualisation and critical analysis within an acadeic dissertation. Graduates will be able to:
Articulate and debate the aims, methods and outcomes of their research practices.
Make a significant and engaged contribution within the community of their profession in the visual arts.
Demonstrate the capacity for self-directed study and the ability to work independently.
Demonstrate evidence of advanced knowledge about a specialised area of theoretical and applied research relevant to the visual arts field.
Plan and carry out original research to internationally recognised standards, demonstrating a high order of skill, analytical ability and critical evaluation.
Articulate and debate the links between research methods, theoretical enquiry, and studio based research in relation to their approved topic of study.
