About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The programme will provide a learning framework that will allow candidates to advance their research and academic knowledge and technical skills in aspects of dental technology and dental biomaterials. The Thesis for the Master of Dental Technology is focused on research in the area of advanced biomaterials and dental technology. The programmes goal is to provide dental technicians with advanced skills in a range of disciplines that will be of benefit to the dental profession and the public, and to provide an academic and / or research career pathway for dental technicians. The programme aims to broaden students knowledge and skills in advanced dental technology and biomaterials and update them on current advances in practice and issues involving the delivery of dental technology to general dentists and specialists. Students will be able to critically evaluate these concepts, will understand scientific method and be able to conduct research. The thesis will enable the candidate to carry out independent research on a specific question.

Minimum requirements

Candidates intending to complete the MDentTech by papers and a thesis must have a Bachelor of Dental Technology degree or equivalent. Candidates intending to complete by thesis only must have a Postgraduate Diploma in Dental Technology or equivalent.
