What can I expect out of this qualification?
The Bachelor of Screen Arts aims to provide high-level professional education in its programme of study that equips graduates to operate in a range of roles in screen production industries with these five defining attributes: Creativity - Toi; Virtuosity - Mohio; Understanding - Matauranga; Autonomy - Mana; Connectedness - Whanaungatanga. This three-year qualification equips students with advanced technical skills across a range of disciplines, alongside focused and specialised professional development and skills in independent critical reflection and analysis. - awareness of the richness and variety of different views within creative media industries acknowledging their contribution to the cultural identity of Aotearoa New Zealand - broad, critical understanding of the discourse, professional practices and production processes of digital and interactive media, and their contexts - understanding of the relationship between creative media production and audiences, clients, markets, users, consumers and participants Values and Attitudes - Intellectual curiosity and adaptably, willing to embrace new ideas and accommodate risk and uncertainty - Goals for intellectual and/or professional development Skills - Exploratory and transformative thinking, analytical, evaluative and synthesising skills and iterative processes to generate ideas, proposals, and transfer them into creative media production outcomes - Critical reflection and evaluation of their own and others creative media production work - Application of investigative and applied research strategies in the development of ideas and concepts for creative media outputs - Critically informed competence in the management and operation of creative media production technologies, procedures and processes - Technical excellence, intellectual and conceptual rigour in cross-media forms of production

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
Admission to the Bachelor of Screen Arts requires that the candidate will meet the University admission requirements as specified. Candidates for the Degree of Bachelor of Screen Arts shall follow a flexible course of study, which shall consist of courses totalling 360 credits, comprising: a) a minimum of 285 credits as specified in the Schedule to the Qualification; and b) up to 75 credits from any other papers offered by the University; and including c) a maximum of 165 credits at 100 level; d) at least 90 credits at 200-level; e) at least 105 credits at 300-level. f) completion of at least one major
