About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
Graduates will have the conceptual and theoretical knowledge, including exposure to indigenous knowledge/matauranga Maori, the technical skills, and experience to contribute to the field of disaster risk and resilience. As well as specific disciplinary expertise, graduates will be positioned to contribute in the current disaster management sector, where working in inter-disciplinary teams to produce collaborative outputs/objectives is essential. Graduates will have a suite of complementary skills across disaster resilience theory, risk assessment, ethics, governance and policy, geospatial sciences, and risk communication. These skills qualify graduates to work in a range of local, national and international contexts.
