What can I expect out of this qualification?
To produce capable, critical, adaptable and reflective media practitioners able to work successfully in dynamic media environments and communicate, collaborate and innovate in a variety of media and creative contexts.
The Bachelor of Broadcasting Communications is aimed at school leavers, recent school leavers, graduates of other degrees and others interested in undertaking formal career-focussed media education and training.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
New Zealand University Entrance - NCEA Level 3 (60 credits at level 3 and 20 credits at level 2 or higher) which must include: 14 credits at Level 3 in each of 3 subjects from the list of approved subjects* o one of these subjects must include 14 literacy credits at Level 3. and Numeracy* - 10 credits at Level 1 or above (specified achievement standards, or unit standards 26623, 26626, 26627) OR New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 4) Ara Broadcasting and Media Pathway OR Certificate in University Preparation (CUP) English If English is not the applicant s first language, applicants will need to provide a result from a test or qualification on the acceptable alternatives English Proficiency Outcomes Chart. Applicants who do not have evidence of English language skills and are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, may contact Ara for an assessment.
