Entry requirements
To be eligible for entry, learners must be in an employed arrangement, in a role that enables them to provide the evidence required to achieve the graduate profile outcome(s).
The employer and learner, in conjunction with the Tertiary Education Organisation (TEO) must complete a training agreement.
* Candidates must hold a suitable Health and Safety unit/skills standard or demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills (such as 40110 - Work safely when completing basic data cabling tasks).
* Candidates must have achieved a National Certificate in Educational Achievement (NCEA) (Level 2) with Mathematics and English, hold an equivalent qualification or, be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills.
About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
This micro-credential focuses on developing knowledge and practical skills for working safely on worksites while completing data cabling tasks. It equips learners to competently install cable pathways, support systems and flush boxes in a range of complex environments, including commercial environments. Learners will gain an understanding of industry best practices, safety protocols and risk management techniques that align with New Zealand's regulatory standards including AS/NZS 11801, ensuring that installations meet industry specifications and safety requirements.
