Entry requirements
All applicants must be: - at least 16 years of age; and - employed in an automotive position or a role that is leading to a Tyre Technician position where that role enables evidence gathering for the assessment tasks as detailed in the micro-credential. Ākonga are required to have the support of their employer and the workplace must meet approved training capacity requirements.

What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of fleet tyre technician senior technical skills is to provide ākonga with the essential skills and understanding needed to work with tyres and wheels on heavy machinery and vehicles. Ākonga will gain experience and knowledge in identifying and maintaining heavy vehicle tyres, performing tyre repairs and refitting, as well as safely inspecting, removing, and refitting wheels on heavy equipment.
