About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

This micro-credential (MCD) is designed to develop the knowledge and skills of graduates to the level where they can assist with the implementation of aspects of primary industry operations. The specific focus for this MCD is the use of agricultural/horticultural vehicles and trailed equipment. Learners will gain skills enabling them to operate selected vehicles and trailed equipment safely and effectively.

The design of this MCD means that it is tailored for the individual learner according to their career aspirations and covers vehicle types that would be required in most primary industry settings.

This MCD has been developed primarily to meet the needs of individuals within the care of the Department of Corrections who want to access learning opportunities that will support their re-entry to employment.

The Department of Corrections have requested credentialised learning that is suited to their farm based facilities; and can be completed within a shorter timeframe than a full programme of study.

In addition, this micro-credential will meet the needs of individuals, workplaces and iwi/hapu requiring pre-employment or skills for the primary industries, or those already in work needing to upskill
