About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The Introduction to Gardening micro-credential aims to enable ākonga who require specialist support to learn, to work in a highly structured context, to be introduced to the fundamentals of gardening and use their skills and knowledge in a familiar garden environment under direct supervision.
The additional skills, knowledge and attributes will enhance their communication, active participation and problem-solving skills and build confidence in completing simple tasks allowing them to pathway into further learning and/or undertake supported employment roles in a horticultural environment. They will participate more fully in their communities and workplaces.
