About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The micro-credential aims to support graduates aged 16 years+ into sustainable and long-term career opportunities in the welding industry.
This micro-credential is designed to develop skills and abilities of individuals that have already completed a welding qualification or have been in the industry and are wanting to pursue a career in pipe welding.
The pipe welding micro-credential focuses on more specialised training in two welding processes: Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) and Manual Metal Arc Welding (MMAW), allowing students to gain training such that they can successfully attain an American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME IX) section 9 test plate pass.
It provides a pathway to pipe welding employment or further study for students wishing to enter engineering or related engineering trades workplaces e.g., engineering workshops or worksites, welding and fabrication and related engineering trades.
