For all International learners we will refer to the Immigration New Zealand Policy for the learners' study rights.

Onshore International students must have English language competence to undertake this programme which is taught and assessed in English. International students are required to have an International English Language Test System (IELTS) General or Academic score of 5.0 with no band score lower than 5.0 or equivalent.

About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The aim of this micro-credential is to develop the learner's knowledge, skills and ability to prepare and present a range of espresso beverages for customers.

The target student market for this micro-credential will be primarily for students, whether domestic or international [onshore], who:

- have left high school and are seeking entry level barista skills in hospitality.
- have limited work experience with working in cafes or restaurants in the New Zealand hospitality sector, or
- have related experience or are currently working in a café.
- are planning to pursue a career in hospitality.
