Entry requirements
Demonstrate an intermediate to advanced level of te reo Māori and have a strong commitment to progress te reo Māori me ōna tikanga in their teaching practice.
Have a strong desire to teach in a kaupapa Māori environment
Demonstrate maturity, life experience and an ability to meet the disposition to teach, integrity and potential to meet expectations outlined in Our Code Our Standards

About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The aim of the Poutuarongo Whakaakoranga is to produce graduates who will have a good working knowledge of tikanga Māori and are able to teach a range of subjects using the Māori language. In addition, those who graduate will have the knowledge and skills to introduce their students to Mātauranga Māori and to Te Ao Māori.
