About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The aim of this micro-credential is to provide learners with the practical skills and knowledge to correctly set up and operate radar. The micro-credential is aimed at entry level mariners working or interested in working on a vessel which uses radar. This may lead to a career path working up to skipper.
During this course the learner will gain the skills necessary to correctly setup and operate a radar to use as an aid in avoiding collisions and also being able to use it to navigate at a basic level. This will make them more valuable as an employee as they will be able to assist on the bridge of a vessel.
