About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The Graduate Diploma in Library and Information Leadership will provide learners
with a range of skills and practices developing critical leadership within the library,
archives and records and information management sector. Learners will broaden
their knowledge and expertise by carrying out a significant body of study in a library
and information studies related subject area. Different elective options are available
for learners to choose from depending on their current experience and/or
qualifications, specific needs, interests, and professional development goals.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
Applicants must have either an undergraduate degree; or professional experience in the library, archives, records, or information Management sectors to the satisfaction of the Degree leader; or successfully completed OP7041 Graduate Certificate in Library and Information Leadership. Graduates of the following Open Polytechnic programmes will not be eligible for enrolment into this programme: * OP7040 Bachelor of Library and Information Studies * OP7020 Bachelor of Arts, Information and Library Studies major, Information and Library Studies/Humanities double major, Information and Library Studies/Communication double major * OP7010 Bachelor of Applied Science, Information and Library Studies major Applicants who have attained the age of 20 years and do not hold the minimum entry requirements will be eligible to be enrolled where their previous educational, work or life experience indicates they have a reasonable likelihood of success. If English or Mäori is the not the applicant's first language, applicants will need an IELTS Academic score of 6 with no band score lower than 5.5, or equivalent. International applicants will need an IELTS Academic score of 6 with no band score lower than 5.5, or equivalent.
