What can I expect out of this qualification?
This qualification provides the engineering and manufacturing industries with individuals who have attained the knowledge, understanding, and practical skills required to safely and effectively carry out basic welding tasks.
The qualification has been designed for individuals who are interested in a career in welding and intend to enter the industry, and individuals already in the industry.
Graduates will be capable of safely performing a defined range of welding tasks, under limited supervision.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
Applicants must: (i) a Domestic Student, or (ii) an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident currently residing in New Zealand. Experience: Akonga who have attained the age of 16 years and do not hold the minimum entry requirements for a programme will be eligible to be enrolled as a student where their previous educational, work or life experience indicates they have a reasonable likelihood of success. Selection Criteria Where there are more applicants than places available, entry to the programme will be in the order of receipt of completed enrolment. This means first in, first served. Verification of Citizenship/Permanent Residency A Birth Certificate or Passport verification of New Zealand Citizenship or Permanent Residency is necessary for enrolment into this programme.
