What can I expect out of this qualification?
Graduates of Te Tohu Mātauranga Whakapakari Tino Rangatiratanga will have applied skills and knowledge in Early Learning Education in Kōhanga Reo contexts and environments, within the language domain of te Reo Māori, that will equip them with the abilities to effectively teach, reflect, reclaim and revitalize Māori early learning practices and disciplines.
A graduate of a Bachelor's Degree is able to:
- demonstrate intellectual independence, critical thinking and analytic rigour
- engage in self-directed learning
- demonstrate knowledge and skills related to the ideas, principles, concepts, chief research methods and problem-solving techniques of a recognised major subject
- demonstrate the skills needed to acquire, understand and assess information from a range of sources
- demonstrate communication and collaborative skills.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
To gain entry, akonga must hold a te reo Maori qualification at Level 5 on the NZQF, must be over 17 years old, successfully complete the whakauru (entry) process and have support and endorsement from the whanau of the kohanga they are associated with. Furthermore, akonga must also complete a risk assessment and safety check in compliance with the Children's Act, including police vetting. Akonga are also required to participate in an interview process to ascertain suitability for the programme, including overall commitment to the programme and kaupapa
