What can I expect out of this qualification?
This qualification is intended for whānau who wish to increase their levels of personal health, fitness and wellbeing guided by the principles of Te Whare Tapa Whā, a mātauranga Māori model of wellbeing.
The purpose of the Poupou Pakari Tinana is to provide whānau with opportunities to engage in successful strategies for enhancing health and wellbeing integral to everyday living.
They will be able to demonstrate and explain their wellness journey through exposure to kaupapa and tikanga Māori that embraces a Māori world view of health and wellbeing.
Graduates will be able to engage in te reo Māori at a basic level using words and phrases associated with pakari tinana.
