About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The aim of the Graduate Diploma in Building Information Modelling (BIM) is to enable graduates to engage in higher-level learning in construction-related fields (architecture, construction, civil engineering etc.), to enable deployment, critical reflection and problem-solving, and leadership in respect of knowledge and skills of BIM, and personal and leadership attributes to equip them to work, manage and lead in the building industry as BIM leads, BIM specialists, BIM/CAD engineers or BIM designers.
The GDBIM ensures graduates are capable of leading the BIM aspect of construction projects.
In this programme, the focus is on application, with students applying knowledge and concepts learnt, towards completion of an industry-negotiated applied BIM project.
The target market includes students who have completed a relevant Bachelor degree in a construction-related field (e.g. BCon, BEng, BEngTech, BArch, BAS etc.); people currently working in industry wanting to upskill; and/or people sponsored by their work organisations to upskill as part-time students. Included also are those students wanting to lead the implementation of BIM within industry, and Project Managers seeking to broaden their knowledge and skills with BIM.
