About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The aim of the Master of Sustainable Practice is to enable students to develop and apply advanced understandings of theories, driving forces, and worldviews, including Te Ao Maori, related to sustainable practice within the context of their discipline specific knowledge. The programme embraces principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi to facilitate collaboration and innovation and applies an interdisciplinary framework to address complex or wicked sustainability problems. Graduates will be able to advocate for, and lead change towards, more sustainable practices, apply high level research skills to plan and conduct independent inquiry projects related to sustainability in professional contexts, and will be independent learners who can utilise and undertake research to formulate solutions to sustainability issues. The Master of Sustainable Practice is aimed at people in professional practice contexts or new graduates looking for advanced study and research skills to become leaders of sustainable practice.

Minimum requirements
Academic Requirements A Bachelor's degree. Alternative Requirements Applicants unable to evidence that they meet Academic Entry requirements, but who can demonstrate acquired skills for tertiary study gained through study, work and/or life experience, may be approved for alternative entry. English Requirements Applicants for whom English is not their first language may also be required to provide evidence of English language skills as listed below. Applicants who do not have evidence of English language skills and are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident should contact Ara for advice. * IELTS 6.5 Academic (no lower than 6.0 in any subtest). For acceptable alternatives refer to the English Proficiency Outcomes Chart on the Ara website
