What can I expect out of this qualification?
The MNSc aims to enable registered nurses seeking postgraduate study to prepare for a variety of advanced nursing practice and leadership roles, but not that of a Nurse Practitioner, further developing their knowledge and skills for evidence-based practice, clinical specialty practice, advanced nursing practice, research, education and leadership. Graduates of the programme will be equipped with expanded nursing knowledge, refined skills for evidence-based practice, enhanced clinical judgment and research skills, which will enable them to deliver advanced nursing practice and leadership.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
EIT Postgraduate Diploma in Health Science with a B average or higher; or a postgraduate nursing qualification deemed equivalent to the EIT Postgraduate Diploma in Health Science with a B average or higher. Normally enrolment into the Master programme will be through the EIT Postgraduate Diploma in Health Science. A minimum B average is required for confirmation of enrolment into the Master of Nursing Science. Applicants whose first language is not English must have demonstrated an acceptable level of English language fluency prior to acceptance in the programme. Ways in which English language fluency may be demonstrated include successful study of a programme in which English was the language of instruction (conditions apply*), completion of a New Zealand Certificate in English Language (Level 5 Academic), approved scores on IELTS tests (Academic score of at least 6.5 in every band, achieved in a single test) or completion of accepted international equivalents. All results for IELTS or other accepted English language tests must have been achieved in the two years prior to admission. International students must obtain appropriate visas to study in New Zealand, and must be full-time students each semester. * See: NZQA English language entry requirements for international students: http://www.nzqa.govt.nz/providers-partners/qa-system-for-teos/english-international-s tudents/ Applicants must be New Zealand Registered Nurses, or, in the case of international students, must be registered in their country of origin, and preferably have three years post-registration nursing experience.
