About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the construction diving sector with graduates able to work in onshore construction diving roles.
Graduates who gain the appropriate Certificate of Competency will be able to work as onshore construction divers to depths of up to 30 metres.
Graduates will be able work autonomously in a dive team under broad guidance and take some responsibility for the performance of others.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
Specific entry requirements * Be 18 years of age or over. * Hold a valid Occupational Diving Medical Certificate to AS/NZS2299.1. Obtained within 90 days of course start (Can be done at OMTC during the course. Recommended for International students before course starts). * Hold a valid First Aid and Oxygen Provider Certificate. (Can be done at OMTC during course) * Swim 200m in togs without stopping in 8 minutes. Swim 200m neutrally buoyant in scuba gear in 8 minutes. * Undertake and pass the ADAS Literacy, Language and Numeracy test (Online) * Additionally, International Students and those whose first language is not English: Competence in English language: those whose first language is not English are required to score at least IELTS 5.5 (Academic) in all aspects of the test or NZQA approved equivalent. * The OMTC Student Handbook must be read, agreed to and signed.
