About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
This qualification will provide Aotearoa New Zealand, the exercise industry, clients and the community with graduates who have the skills and knowledge of exercise prescription across a variety of exercise environments.
Graduates will be able to design and deliver advanced technical and personalised exercise programmes. They will have broad operational, theoretical and practical knowledge of exercise processes and self-manage their own promotion and performance.
Graduates will operate within a framework of health and wellness in relation to individual, group or community needs and can apply their skills to contribute to the cultural, social, and economic wellbeing of Aotearoa New Zealand.
Graduates will be eligible to register with the New Zealand Register of Exercise Professionals.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
NZ Certificate in Exercise (L4) OR equivalent skills and knowledge and evidence of ability to succeed on the programme. All applicants must have a level of English sufficient to be able to study at this level. Applicants whose first language is not English must have demonstrated an acceptable level of English language fluency prior to acceptance in the programme. Ways in which English language fluency may be demonstrated include successful study of a programme in which English was the language of instruction (conditions apply), completion of a New Zealand Certificate in English Language (Level 4 with any endorsement), approved scores on IELTS tests (Academic score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5) or completion of accepted international equivalents.
