About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The aim of this Graduate Diploma is to prepare students for employment in a range of possible careers such as an environmental resource manager (with EIA skills), a biological technician/advisor, an environmental consultant/advisor, a policy analyst or planner and a farm or forest manager. The students will gain advanced skills in analysis, critique, collaboration, and problem solving so they can compose and devise new methods in resource and environmental management. They will learn to exercise critical and independent judgement, be able to use a range of technologies and integrate new information into their lives and that of others. The Graduate Diploma in Resource Management applies a multi-disciplinary approach to knowledge and it will encourage the students to develop outstanding research and communication skills. They will take part in a self-directed industry project where they will work with, and relate to, people in a wide range of communities. The goal of our teaching professionals is to enhance and develop resource management so the students will increase their professionalism and understand their own personal limitations so much so that their skills will be applicable not only here in New Zealand but also in a global context.
