About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The overall objective Te Taketake is to produce graduates who are ready to take up a professional role as demanded by the mental health and addictions sector. Graduates of Te Taketake are therefore able to work independently to provide both assessments and treatment services. The knowledge and skill demonstrated by graduates of a Level 7 diploma is that which is accepted for membership of DAPAANZ, the relevant professional body for addictions practitioners.

Minimum requirements

No formal academic prerequisites. It is expected that tauira have achievement of Level 5 or above, work in mental health and addictions sector, and have access to this type of work, as this is an applied qual, requiring 400 hours of supervised practice.
