What can I expect out of this qualification?
This qualification provides the commercial road transport industry with individuals who have the knowledge and skills required to safely and competently operate heavy rigid vehicles or heavy vehicle combinations, to ensure the safe and efficient movement of freight within specific industry sectors.
The qualification is designed for individuals who are already working within the industry and want to gain skills and knowledge beyond those required to be a licence holder or general heavy vehicle operator.
Graduates will be able to work independently.
This qualification does not permit the holder to drive a motor vehicle on New Zealand roads without a current relevant driver licence issued by the New Zealand Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA).
