What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the New Zealand building industry with competent workers who are able to work as a building surveyor or other professions in related areas such as building inspectors or compliance officers.
The public sector and building industries will benefit by having people with the capabilities and competencies to make informed decisions and to perform the functions, roles and responsibilities of a building surveyor, building inspector or compliance officer.
Graduates will be able to operate independently and capable of making informed decisions around compliance in the building regulatory environment.
Graduates will not be able to practice as a building surveyor, building inspector, or building consent official until they have acquired practical experience to meet employer requirements.
