About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

This degree has been designed to equip its graduates with the skills to work in the music/audio/sound industry in NZ and overseas. Current diploma graduates can gain entry level positions, but this degree aims to give students entry at a higher level with increased responsibility to add immediate value to the workforce. Many audio practitioners make a living on a freelance basis and they are more attractive as contractors with the skill set which a degree provides. Employers in the audio industry who are seeking fulltime and or contract staff want these people to be able to think critically; solve problems; and find solutions as well as being current in a competitive and exacting market. Past diploma students have indicated they wish to re-enrol with MAINZ to complete the degree as this adds significant value to their CV and their capabilities.
