What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the electronic engineering industry with specialised electronic technicians who are able to apply skills and knowledge to analyse, configure, and repair complex systems and circuits within their specialist field.
This qualification is suitable for candidates who wish to advance their career within the electronic engineering industry.
Graduates of this qualification will be able to supervise electronic workers and will also be eligible to be registered and licensed as an Electrical Appliance Serviceperson (endorsed to disconnect and reconnect) (EAS endorsed) or as an Electrical Service Technician (EST).

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
To be eligible for entry, trainees must be in an employment arrangement in a role that will enable the trainee to achieve the graduate profile outcomes. Trainees must hold a Trainee Limited Certificate (TLC) or Limited Certificate (LC) issued by the EWRB. Details of both the Supervision Procedures for Trainees and the TLC are available from the EWRB website at: www.ewrb.govt.nz. The TLC/LC must be uplifted within the first three months of commencing training. ICE may enrol trainees working in New Zealand under work visas into this programme without being a signatory to The Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021, until 31 December 2023.
