What can I expect out of this qualification?
This qualification is intended for those seeking to increase their skills and knowledge to work with whānau, hapū, iwi and hapori in a social services context.
Graduates will be able to deliver whanau-centred social services, explain legislative requirements and apply tikanga and kawa when engaging with whānau, hapū, iwi and hapori.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
Akonga must meet the following requirements to gain entry on the programme: - New Zealand citizen or permanent resident; and - Minimum 16 years of age or over (unless exemption has been granted) at the commencement of the programme; and - Prior completion of a programme at level 3 or above. They must: - Pass a pre-entry literacy test of a level 3 or above; and - Demonstrate a likelihood to meet requirements for success and completion of programme as determined at a pre-entry interview; and - Demonstrate a willingness to commit to a programme of personal education.
