About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the health sector industry and massage therapy profession with people who can provide wellness and relaxation massage services.
Graduates will be able to work within the Massage New Zealand Scope of Practice Wellness and Relaxation Massage.
Graduates will communicate with and refer to remedial massage therapists, allied health professionals, wellness and medical professionals for those specialist services.
Graduates will be capable of working independently.

Minimum requirements
NZ2740 New Zealand Diploma in Wellness and Relaxation Massage (level 5): NCEA Level 2 or equivalent or an NZQA recognised qualification in Massage therapy, level 4 or above Additional Requirements Consent to Disclosure of Information: Applicants will be required to complete a New Zealand Police to Disclosure of Information form. The form will be sent to the Police Licensing and Vetting Service, and returned in confidence to Ara. English Requirements IELTS 5.5 Academic (no lower than 5.0 in any subtest). For acceptable alternatives refer to the English Proficiency Outcomes Chart.
