About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the locksmithing industry with locksmiths who have the skills and knowledge required to specify, install, service, repair, commission and bypass locking systems, and to produce keys for those systems.
Graduates will be able to work independently to the required specifications while maintaining the ethics and integrity required of the locksmithing industry.
This qualification is designed for people working in the industry and will typically be achieved in a workplace environment whilst completing a New Zealand Apprenticeship.

Minimum requirements
Be in employment and an active Training Agreement with Competenz. In order to enrol in Block Course 2 you must have completed the Block Course 1 units (12917, 30960, 30963, 30964 and 30965) and the following 9 elearning/on-job units 29551, 11661, 12909, 12910, 12915, 12916, 12924, 22451 and 30581.
