About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The aim of the Master of Information Technology is to produce IT graduates who are able to think critically, participate in investigative applied research and have a number of high level skills in the IT 6 / 70 field that can be applied in a wide range of situations. These high level skills will include both project management and strategic IT management with an emphasis on workplace needs. The programme has been developed in response to stakeholder consultation and is designed to produce graduates who can understand and solve the complex applied computing problems which are commonly faced in the IT workplace. On completion of the programme, graduates should be able to take up middle or senior IT management roles (depending on their entry work experience) with an understanding of the issues that managers in the IT field face. The programme will adopt an approach that utilises research projects, work based case studies and interaction with industry practitioners and will be delivered using a combination of face to face delivery, self-directed study and online resources.
