What can I expect out of this qualification?
This qualification is designed for ākonga/learners who are seeking to develop a range of foundational technical skills and conceptual knowledge to produce creative work in arts, crafts or design contexts.
Graduates of this qualifications will have developed a limited range of creative capabilities to allow them to contribute to community or commercial projects in preparation for further study.
Graduates will be able to operate independently under broad guidance.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
The Certificate in Art and Design is open to both domestic and international applicants. Domestic applicants must have completed a NCEA Level 2 or equivalent evidence that they have the ability to succeed in the programme. International applicants must be 18 years or older and have proof that they have gained within the last 2 years, English language skills equivalent to IELTS level 5.5 with no band score lower than 5. All applicants must complete an application form, provide necessary documents. Applicants also need to successfully have completed a formal interview with the Programme Leader, or appointed Recruitment representative.
