What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the maritime industry with people who have the knowledge and skills to work as chief mate or master on yachts over 24 metres to the standards required under the Maritime NZ Seafarer Certification and Operational Limits Framework.
This qualification is for yacht crew intending to become Chief Mate or Master on a yacht but is also open to other seafarers and new entrants to the industry.
The optional Yacht Master optional strand is for those intending to take full charge of the vessel which requires certification as Master.
