About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this qualification is to provide the equine industry with individuals who have the skills and knowledge to coach horse and novice rider combinations, both individually and in a group.
Graduates will benefit by having a qualification that provides recognition of their coaching skills and a pathway to further qualifications in equine coaching.
The industry will benefit from this qualification by having qualified people who are able to contribute effectively as coaches in the sporthorse industry, in riding schools, or within the Pony Club movement.
Graduates will be capable of working under limited supervision with responsibility for work outcomes.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

Age: Must be at least 16 years old or 15 years of age with a MOE early leaver exemption. Academic: Open entry Physical: Must have the physical capability to cope with the practical demands of the qualification. Prior to enrolment in the programme a check will be carried out to ensure the learner is a fit and proper person to work in the equestrian coaching industry. To ensure the learner is a fit and proper person to work in the equestrian coaching industry a police check is a condition of the entry into this programme.
