What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) industry with people who have sufficient underpinning knowledge, understanding, and practical skill to work as a Trade Assistant.
This is an entry level qualification designed for people already working in the industry or people intending to enter the industry as a Trade Assistant.
Graduates will be able to perform limited assembly, installation and maintenance functions under the supervision of a qualified tradesperson.

Minimum requirements
To satisfactorily complete New Zealand Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (Trade Assistant) (Level 3) and be awarded this qualification the student must successfully achieve: - Achieved all of the graduate outcomes in the graduate profile showing competence to a minimum of 120 credits in accordance with the programme schedule for the New Zealand Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (Trade Assistant) (Level 3). Completed required practical and theoretical course work and assignments. The student will normally be expected to complete the New Zealand Certificate in Business (Administration and Technology) (Level 3) full-time over 34 tutorial weeks or part-time over 2 years. (Please note; students failing to attend for 80% of timetabled programme hours may forfeit zero fees entitlement)
