About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this qualification is to provide the wood manufacturing industry with people who have the skills and knowledge relevant to work under limited supervision, in operational roles in the areas of log yard, wood fibre, timber yard, and paint operations. Each strand represents a process undertaken in wood panelling manufacturing.

Graduates will have the technical skills and knowledge required for the safe and efficient operation, of plant and equipment used in one of these processes.

Graduates of Log Yard Operations will also be able to carry out processes and operate machinery in a log yard operation.

Graduates of Paint Operations will also be able carry out processes and operate machinery in a paint operation.

Graduates of Timber Yarding and Despatch will also be able to carry out processes and operate machinery in a timber yarding and despatch operation.

Graduates of Wood Fibre Operations will also be able to carry out processes and operate machinery in a wood fibre operation.
