About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the wood manufacturing industry with people who have the foundation skills and knowledge relevant to work in this industry under general supervision. Each strand represents a process undertaken in wood manufacturing.
Graduates will be able to work safely in entry-level operational roles in one of these processes.
Graduates of the Wood Handling and Distribution Strand will also be able to carry out operational tasks in log or timber yard operations.
Graduates of the Wood Manufacturing Operations Strand will also be able to operate within a support role in a wood manufacturing environment.
Graduates of the Wood Processing Strand will also able to carry out a range of different basic practical operational tasks in log or timber yard operations.
