What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is:
- to provide competent employees who are able to work in entry-level positions in the retail sector;
- to provide a credential for those individuals who are working in entry-level positions using retail and customer service skills, that will support their career opportunities across a range of organisations in the retail sector;
- to establish standards of professional practice for retail and customer service skills that can provide customers with confidence in the service they receive.

Minimum requirements
Entry requirements for New Zealand and International Students: -Must be a minimum of 16 years old -Applicants without formal qualifications must meet the minimum requirements of the NZMA placement assessment -Students who do not have English as a first language will need to show that they are capable of successfully completing the course by achieving and providing documented evidence of an IELTS Score of at least 5.0 with no band score lower than 5 OR alternative NZQA approved proficiency outcomes for entry at level 3 OR an equivalent score on the NZMA English Language entry assessment.
