What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is:
- to provide competent employees who are able to work in entry-level positions in the retail sector;
- to provide a credential for those individuals who are working in entry-level positions using retail and customer service skills, that will support their career opportunities across a range of organisations in the retail sector;
- to establish standards of professional practice for retail and customer service skills that can provide customers with confidence in the service they receive.

Minimum requirements
To gain entry to the New Zealand Certificate in Retail (Level 3) programme, applicants must be able to demonstrate adequate literacy and numeracy skills to enable them to meet all academic and health and safety requirements of the programme/course on which they enrol. English language requirements for this programme will be in accordance with the criteria specified in the Waiariki Regulatory Framework (Academic Regulations).
