About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is:
- To supply the food and beverage sector with employees who are able to provide service in cafes and unlicensed restaurants, quick-service restaurants, bars or clubs, restaurants offering table or buffet service, establishments catering functions in-house, or baristas.
- To provide a credential for those individuals who are employed as service personnel that will support their employment opportunities across a range of establishments in the hospitality sector.
- To establish standards of professional practice for basic service that can provide customers with confidence in a range of hospitality environments.
The strands in this qualification allow graduates to specialise in an area of food and beverage service.
Graduates will be able to operate to provide food and/or beverage service in a casual dining or bar context.

Minimum requirements
Applicants will fill out an application form and be interviewed prior to enrolment. Learners must be seeking employment or further training in the hospitality and or customer service environments. Learners are recommended to have access to: * Computer with reliable high-speed internet connection * Up-to-date internet browser * Camera for still and video images (or smartphone) * Headphones or earbuds Courses can also be accessed on mobile devices. Chromebooks can be lent to learners who need them for the duration of their course.
