Entry requirements

Students will be eligible for admission if they are 18 years of age, can provide proof of New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency and if they have obtained a minimum of 42 credits at level 3 or higher, made up of 14 credits in each of two approved subjects, with a further 14 credits at level 3 or highter taken from no more than two additional domains or approved subjects. International students should contact the School and provide proof of visa requirements as well as being able to meet literacy standards and numeracy rerquirements. Applicants who have completed Bursary, mature students, Australian students and those seeking discretionary entrance should contact the School. NZCEL (Academic) Level 4

About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

On completion of the programme, the graduate will be qualified to be an autonomous first-contact primary health care professional, who uses acupuncture to treat patients. Graduates will have acquired a solid and well-established foundation in the knowledge, skills, attitudes and clinical practice of acupuncture. They shall be eligible for membership in the New Zealand Register of Acupuncturists Inc. (NZRA) as well as other professional Chinese medical associations in New Zealand. NZRA is a member of the World Federation of Acupuncture Societies (WFAS) allowing graduates of the School to have their qualifications recognised internationally and thus be qualified to pursue post-graduate studies in acupuncture currently only available overseas.
